Alright, let us try this again. Since Travellerspoint seems to have eaten my last update? Classes have wound down here in Edinburgh, and now it's only a matter of finishing off my exams (3 exams over the course of a month!). I took our two week spring break at the end of lectures to do a bit of traveling. I spent the beginning of April spending a week visiting a friend in Belfast that I had not seen in literally a decade, which was quite nice, and then my friend and I decided to spend a week visiting ROME! As a classicist with a focus on the Roman Empire, one can imagine my excitement! I've similarly finished off my post-semester travel itinerary, which will take me from Amsterdam to Cologne, Lyon, Paris, Cork, and Galway! Besides travel, things have been pretty quiet here in Edinburgh, most people are spending a lot of time studying for their exams, though somewhat less so for us Americans studying abroad,
As has been (repeatedly) requested, some photos from my trip to Rome!
The obligatory Colosseum photo!
Me in the Colosseum
(Fun Fact: the proper name for the Colosseum is in fact the "Flavian Ampitheatre", as it was erected by the Flavian dynasty of Roman Emperors: Vespasian, Titus, and Domitian)
The Arch of Constantine
Me on the Palantine Hill (where Romulus supposedly took his augury which told him that he should found Rome)
The Roman Forum, where all the magic happened! (And by "magic" I mean "assassinations of lots of important people")
The Roman Senate House!!!!
